Java Development Kit

Java Development Kit, abgekürzt JDK oder im neueren Fall J2SDK, sind die Java-Entwicklungswerkzeuge. Das JDK enthält neben der Laufzeitumgebung (JRE) sowie dem Javacompiler javac unter anderem auch folgende Tools:

javadoc (Zur Erstellung der Dokumentation)
jar, jarsigner (Komprimierung und Signierung von Java-Anwendungen oder Bibliotheken)
Java(tm) Plug-in HTML Converter
Appletviewer

Das JDK kann sowohl separat als auch im Bundle mit der Java-IDE NetBeans heruntergeladen werden.

Windows 32bit und IA64
Solaris SPARC und x86
Linux 32bit und IA64
Solaris AMD64 (nur JDK 5.0)

Die aktuelle Version des JDK ist 5.0 Update 3 (Stand Juni 2005).
