Freecycle

Mit Freecycle bezeichnet man eine neue Art der Wiederverwendung von Gegenständen durch eine Internetbasiertes Netzwerk zum kostenlosen Verschenken. Funktionsfähige Dinge sollen einer sinnvollen Nutzung zugeführt werden.

Worterläuterung: "free" für kostenlos, "cycling" für Recycling.

Das vom US-Amerikaner Deron Beal (Tuscon, Arizona) gegründete Verschenke-Netzwerk hat inzwischen Nachahmer auch in anderen Ländern bekommen, in Deutschland z. B. in Frankfurt am Main.

Nach einer unkomplizierten Anmeldung kann jedes Gruppenmitglied Gegenstände, Möbel, usw. mit einer Kurzbeschreibung anbieten. Nach erfolgreicher Kontaktaufnahme von Interessenten z. B. per E-Mail wird die Abholung/Übergabe organisiert, und als Abschluss sollte der Spender die Meldung: "XXX ist Abgeholt" ins Netz stellen.

Wichtige Einschränkung: Es darf nicht gehandelt oder verkauft werden, es gibt keine Gebühren, das Versenden von Werbung, Spam oder politischer Slogans ist tabu.
