Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile

Die Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), ist der internationale Dachverband des Automobils bzw. der Autofahrer mit Sitz in Paris. Die Sitz der Administration ist in Genf.

Die FIA hat über 150 nationale Mitgliedsorganisationen in 118 Ländern, die ca. 100 Millionen Mitglieder repräsentieren. Deutschland wird durch den ADAC und den AvD vertreten.

Bekannt ist die FIA als Dachorganisation weltweiten Automobil-Motorsports und durch die von ihr ausgeschriebenen Weltmeisterschaften, insbesondere die mit Formel-1-Fahrzeugen ausgetragenen Weltmeisterschaften für Fahrer und Konstrukteure, die Rallye-Weltmeisterschaft und die World Touring Car Championship (WTCC). Deutschland wird dabei im Motorsport durch den Deutschen Motorsportbund DMSB vertreten, der u.a. gemäß den FIA-Bestimmungen Lizenzen für Rennfahrer ausstellt.
