Computer Aided Quality Assurance

CAQ (von engl. Computer Aided Quality assurance) steht für computergestützte Qualitätssicherung und ist ein Element des Qualitätsmanagement. CAQ-Systeme analysieren (Prozessdatenanalyse (PDA)), dokumentieren und archivieren qualitätsrelevante Daten zu Fertigungsprozessen. CAQ beinhaltet computergestützte Maßnahmen zur Planung und Durchführung der Qualitätssicherung, z.B. die Untersuchung der Radreifen eines ICE auf Haarrisse.

Die Analyse, Dokumentation und Archivierung qualitätsrelevante Daten ist für Unternehmen zur Minimierung der Risiken nach dem Produkthaftungsgesetz von sehr hoher Bedeutung. Dazu werden Daten aus messenden und attributiven Prüfungen vom CAQ-System mit statistischen Methoden ausgewertet. Die CAQ-Systeme zeigen die Prozessfähigkeit von Produktionsprozessen an, d. h. wie stabil und wie gut reproduzierbar sind Produktionsprozesse. Die Verknüpfung qualitätsrelevanter Daten mit der Reklamationsbearbeitung (s. auch Reklamationsmanagement) kann zu einer deutlichen Kostenreduzierung führen.
