Chlorat

Als Chlorate bezeichnet man Salze der Chlorsäure HClO3. Sie enthalten als Anion das Chlorat-Ion (ClO3-).

Chlor weist dabei die Oxidationszahl +5 auf.

Wichtige Chlorate sind Natriumchlorat und Kaliumchlorat.
